Where did this originate? Where does this place into effect?
This one required some research. I found a great article from a site called
Indian Country Today. Here’s a little bit from it, “The first treaty was signed
on September 17, 1778 at Fort Pitt, present day Pittsburgh, between the
Delaware Nation and the United States of America, which was the name of the
Confederacy of States before the adoption of the U.S. Constitution”. So
treaties have been around for a while, only a year later than when The Articles
of Confederation were born.
